Shri Srinivas Voruganti (India) Elected President of the IIAS (2025–2028)

The International Instituteof Administrative Sciences (IIAS) is proud to announce the election of ShriSrinivas Voruganti, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms andPublic Grievances (DARPG) of the Republic of India, as its next President forthe term 2025–2028.

Elected by the GeneralAssembly with 61.70% of the vote in a democratic process involving IIAS membersworldwide, Shri Srinivas’s election reflects the Institute’s commitment totransparent and participatory governance. His presidency promises to strengthenIIAS's global mission to improve public governance through research, education,and practice.

Shri Srinivas brings to therole a distinguished career in public administration, both in India andinternationally. He currently serves as Secretary to the Government of India inthe Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and the Departmentof Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare. Since 2018, he has represented India on theIIAS Council of Administration.

His extensive publicservice includes leadership roles such as Director General of the NationalCentre for Good Governance and the National Archives of India, as well assenior positions in the Ministry of Finance, Health, Science & Technology,and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He also served as India’s nominee tothe International Cotton Advisory Committee and held several key roles in the Government of the Indian state of Rajasthan.

He also authored over 250papers and three major books, including The March to New India: Governance Transformed(2014–2019). Hiscontributions to governance and policy have been recognized with severalnational honors, including the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar (2024), the DigitalIndia Award (2020), and the AIIMS Leadership Excellence Award (2017).

Under his leadership, DARPGand IIAS released a landmark publication, Viksit Bharat@2047: Governance Transformed, during the IIAS-DARPG IndiaConference 2025, in February 2025. Part of the IIAS Public Governance Series,this open access volume offers a comprehensive analysis of India’sadministrative development and sets out a strategic vision for attainingdeveloped nation status by 2047.
